Testimonials

Kitchen layout and design require a deep understanding of space, function and flow.  John and I have been working together for over 10 years, collaborating on many projects.  I always turn to John to help with the layout and design of the kitchen.  His vast knowledge regarding the latest materials, appliances and spatial requirements for an optimum functioning kitchen have resulted in many beautiful family kitchens.

“I’ve known John as long as I’ve been in the business (25 yrs.) and he is one of the most precise and accomplished designer/product engineers that I’ve had the pleasure of working with. His design layouts for European cabinetry were leading-edge when he first introduced them to the market and have been continually refined to meet on-going market needs and trends. His pleasant manner and design capabilities are assets in both the showroom and the design studio.”

Ihave known John Dunham socially for about fifteen years. In 2008 my wife and I bought our first townhome together and we were in desperate need of replacing our out of date contractor grade kitchen 1 year later. We mentioned to him that we were looking to design and install an IKEA kitchen with some very high end appliances we had recently purchased and would appreciate his help putting our new Gourmet Kitchen together. I'm a very handy man around the home but this was way out of my league when it comes to the detail and expertise required for an installation like this.

I had demolished the 20 year old cabinets and counters along with replacing the flooring following our initial decision to proceed. John immediately volunteered to help with the installation and early the following weekend, he arrived on time to start our ambitious project. Seeing I had already made a first attempt at putting together cabinets, the first thing John did was remove them after seeing my "handy work". He realized I had screwed the cabinets directly to the walls .... and they were seriously out of square to each other & the new flooring. Mr. Dunham corrected all the problems, including correctly centering the new sink to the existing window.

Over the next several weekends John expertly rebuilt standard boxes into custom cabinets to accommodate our new oversized, built-in appliances and downdraft, created matching panel fillers that are unavailable from IKEA and added custom glass shelves & lighting to over the counter standard wall units which surrounded our grandmother's hutch. It took a number of working weekends but when it was done my wife and I were proud & extremely delighted with the result. I also got a very good refund for returned parts that IKEA had put on the original order that weren't needed, as John had told me.

About a year later we decided to move, and our custom Gourmet Kitchen was a high selling feature to the first prospective buyer which resulted in us selling our home for over the asking price. We sold our townhome 3 days after it was listed, well before the official open house, with multiple offers and a delighted purchaser's words of "Now we have a kitchen that we've always dreamed of".

As dedicated a friend that John is, he was there to help us again with packing & loading our belongings, but his major contribution was to the sale of the home itself. Our beautiful kitchen helped us get the price we wanted very quickly and put us on a sure footing in our new home where we will undoubtedly be calling on his experience and skill once again.
